This rectifier is available in various sizes up to 5,000A with two control options, SCR or motorized powerstat. SCR control is available as a forced air-cooled unit while we strongly recommend indirect air to water-cooling for the powerstat controlled rectifier. The SCR unit is rugged and less expensive to manufacture. While the output is not a true sine wave the results are much the same as a powerstat unit. Powerstat's, while quite rugged and reliable do not deal well with dirt and debris therefore a sealed cabinet is paramount.
